No money to buy premium domains?
While I still think that a good generic domain name (or a set of them) can be a good entry point for a business to build a brand and own a category, many web2.0 business these days have shown that traffic and business can be built without pre-existing visitors to your domain.
So for those of you who are looking to find a name for their latest venture, why not contract “17 domain namers from United States, Canada, Russia, UK, Australia and New Zealand, all with extensive experience of picking great domain names. Some pick domain names for over 6 years.” For $50 (refundable if you don’t register any of the results), they pick a name for your website, according to your description: PickyDomains.com
Out of the samples on their site, I liked the following two “creations”: SoftwareJudge.com and SeniorReady.com . I’d still go for a name with traffic though, if it’s in the budget. Or you could also consider using DomainCapital for financing.
