This is the single most important goal of domain investors, and the angle of "generic domains = seal of approval" is as good as it gets in describing the necessity for big companies to own the domain names of their generic product/service descriptions. I tell this to my clients everyday, and it's slowly sinking in. Unfortunately for the majority of businesses, it will be too late through the gate and they'll be left out of the superb marketing power of a generic descriptive domain. Let's hope that a concentrated and organized effort by responsible, non-exclusive domain industry leaders materializes to achieve this.
